Designing beautiful fabrics that meet the exacting performance standards of the contract market has motivated Iris Wang, Brentano's founder, to create textiles that claim a wide following among both contract and residential designers. These patterns for upholstery and windows, inspired in many ways by Iris's Asian heritage, reflect a commitment to timeless designs and a painterly approach to color.

Cedric Hartman is renowned among the foremost designers of contemporary lighting and furnishings. His custom-made luminaires, several of which are in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, employ metal components that are impeccably fabricated by hand. This design aesthetic extends also to his collection of tables, upholstered pieces and architectural fittings.

Recognized since 1983 as an outstanding source of inventive, handcrafted wallcoverings, David Goldberg Design offers a diverse selection of patterns that range from the iconic motifs of earlier periods, to timeless organic surfaces, to evocative nature-inspired designs. All are created by talented artisans using intensive layering and finishing techniques, utilizing an inspired variety of materials and processes to create richly complex patterns and textures. These fresh and innovative wallcoverings answer the aesthetic needs for both traditional and contemporary interiors as well as today's demanding performance requirements.

Embracing the needs of the most discerning designer and architect, Joseph Noble has redefined the classics in this collection of beautiful textiles, engineered and designed to be appropriate for multiple applications. Developed in 2001, Technology Leather™ was created for designers, architects and specifiers to have a sophisticated option outside of real leather for their upholstery needs.

Place Textiles offers a striking choice of versatile upholstery fabrics that emphasize quality and the integrity of the woven structure. This carefully calibrated palette of neutrals and colors is woven in a variety of fibers and textures that are easy to use and have timeless appeal. The Painted Desert patterns, in Place's Durable Luxury™ group, offer a stunning range of fabrics that are resistant to fading and staining while maintaining the look and feel of fabric.

Highly regarded for its collection of Asian silks, Stratum's textiles interpret a rich sampling of ethnic influences through fine yarns and weaving techniques, evocative earth tones and enduring designs. The historic and the modern merge successfully in these high-quality fabrics, which also include wonderful linens and chenilles.

Located in San Francisco since 1988, Surfaces by David Bonk specializes in custom hand painted wall coverings for the interior design trade.
