We have to share these images of Adorn, Vintage VelvetShisha and Equus put to fantastic use on Tesori Designs at the Egg & Dart showroom in Denver, Colorado.

Notice how Tesori took the wool ground from Adorn and created a flat welt on the arm! It's always nice to see such creativity and attention to detail.

Molly's Shirt

Our junior designer, Molly Haynes, came into the office wearing her own handmade shirt!

"The shirt was handmade on a knitting machine. It is similar to a loom but has tiny needles that knit each individual stitch when you run the yarn across it. I used a special technique called “knit weaving” where I manually placed each row of the jute fiber across the bed of the machine in a way that it will weave into the knit structure. The whole thing takes about 5 hours!"

Last week the design studio visited Liz Collins, a collaborator from our Makers Collection, at her thirteenth 'Knitting Factory' at the 2015 Collective Design Fair. In its third year taking part in Design Week, the fair featured a wide range of sophisticated artisans in fields ranging from lighting to furniture to installation pieces. Entering through exhibit's discreet entrance and walking through the relatively quiet space that held the works, it was noteworthy to arrive at Liz Collin's area and hear the sound of knitting machines in use fill the space as well as the Knitting Nation girls in their white jumpsuits and white Doc Marten clad outfits.

Liz Collin's space, designated as the Knitting Factory, sat at the top of yellow painted metal stairs draped with knitted pieces.
