We recently came across these lovely shots of our Crosscut Plush on Elledecor.com's "Inside the home of Moda Operandi's Indre Rockefeller". The Creative Director's Manhattan home was designed in collaboration with Jessica Stambaugh and Danielle Mastrangelo of Decorative Traces.

"I originally bought them in solid brown, and lived with them for a little bit. Eventually I had them reupholstered because I wanted them to bring a warmth to the room. The new blue upholstery is a supporting print—they work with the other patterns in the room and allow the floral of the curtains to be the main print." -Indre on her dining room chairs

...our new Coral & Tusk for POLLACK fabrics! Read the post here on today's DAILY AD.

Here's a little background about the whimsical collaboration: Rachel Doriss and Stephanie Housley began their friendship as textile design majors at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in the late 90’s. Both women shared a love of fabric and a passion for embroidery and embellishment that would bring them together again 15 years later. Rachel pursued a career as a trained weaver designing upholstery and drapery fabrics and in 2012 became Design Director for POLLACKStephanie led the American branch of an Indian mill designing woven & embroidered fabrics and then in 2007 combined her fabric knowledge and unique drawing style to create a magical world of home and fashion accessories through her company Coral & Tusk. Though their careers took divergent paths Stephanie and Rachel remained close friends, intrigued and inspired by each other’s work.  Then in 2013, with a level of business maturity, a seasoned eye for what’s trending and a passion for making things, the two friends combined their strengths through collaboration.

The Goal: To bring the unique wit and artful embellishment of the Coral & Tusk brand to the fabric world of the professional interior designer.

The Result: Three beautiful textiles, Circus Toile, Circus Stripe and Quill, that combine the magic of Coral & Tusk imagery with the fabric expertise and sophistication of POLLACK.  Stephanie’s signature animals and feathers are rendered as beautifully detailed embroideries on a linen ground in continuous yardage suitable for upholstery and drapery.

2013 Best Of Year

Congratulations to the Pollack studio on their win last night at the BOY Awards!

The girls took home the Best of Year for Odalisque, in the Textiles: Residential category. Odalisque was created in collaboration with wood worker & furniture designer, Matthias Pliessnig, as a part of our 2013 Makers Collection. Pictured above is Design Director Rachel Doriss, flanked by designers Jenia Myagkov & Lauren Kidwell. What a great night. Thank you to everyone for your support!

Layers of ogee shapes define this luxurious silk, with the most striking rising above the fabrics' surface in permanent ridges. Behind this is the lustrous ground of graduated shapes shaded in satin and ottoman weaves. Intricate design, gorgeous color and a reflective surface combine to make Odalisque an animated and elegant fabric.
