Art In A Suitcase

Our fabrics are being used by an organization with a beautiful mission: To create opportunities for global understanding through art between schools in the United States and abroad. The children create art as a way to get to know one another and their cultures with the intention of finding commonalities and acknowledging the strength in their differences.

Chris Martens is a Pollack shareholder and old friend of both Mark Pollack and Maryanne Solensky. She also just retired as an art instructor at Spence, here in New  York City! These images come from a friend of hers, Marvin Cabrera, who has an organization called Art in a Suitcase in Bangladesh. Chris arranged for us to send the organization some discontinued fabric samples to use in the program. Check out the images below, you can see some of our fabrics used to frame drawings and within some of the pieces... Pollack fabrics and construction paper make a good match!

For more on the organization, go to their website or check out their Facebook page.

Thank you to Chris Martens and Marvin Cabrera!

Our fabulous Atlanta rep Jenny Perez spotted our fabrics Vintage Velvet in cocoa and Flow in tide at the Embassy Suites in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia. It's always great to see our fabrics out in the world. Thanks Jenny!

Happy October! This past weekend we came across a few of our fabrics inside of Boston's Marriott Long Wharf! Hmong Plush in cinnamon and Cabochon in amber were both used as pillows in the upstairs lobby. We love the use of this burnt orange hue combined with neutrals.

We just received these lovely images from designer Keita Turner, who designed and curated a vignette for the 2014 Housing Works Design On A Dime benefit. Keita used our Solo velvet in butternut to dress the focal point of the room - a gorgeous circular ottoman!
