About Pollack | The Studio

Rachel Doriss
Rachel, Pollack’s Design Director, has textile design in her DNA. It was her grandmother, a weaver, who taught her many fiber arts from the time she was very young. But it was in the Textile Design department at the Rhode Island School of Design that she realized the practical application of her beloved woven and printed textile techniques. She graduated with a BFA from RISD in 1999 and joined the Pollack Studio in 2000. In 2007, Rachel was appointed Vice President, Associate Design Director. She took the helm as Pollack’s Design Director in 2012, overseeing the Studio and guiding the creative vision for each textile collection.

Jenia Myagkov
Jenia joined the Pollack design studio in 2005 after getting her degrees in chemistry from Hunter College and textile design from FIT. (In fact, she previously worked as a chemist, which gives her invaluable insight into developing high-performance textiles with the safest chemistry possible.) In addition to designing for the collection, she heads up the customs department and works on special developments with mills all over the world. Jenia was born with creativity in her blood and enjoys personal textile projects like doll making, embroidery and painting.

Peyton North
Peyton graduated with a BFA in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design. She became hooked on weaving in high school while attending Cranbrook School in Michigan. As a designer in the Pollack studio, Peyton brings her expert knowledge of woven cloth and experimental drawing techniques to her textile designs.

Larry Hoysic
Larry has been a consistent presence since the early days of Pollack. He brings a lifetime of expertise and wit to the design studio, and is in charge of all testing, production and communication with our 100+ suppliers worldwide. As an artist, he creates beautiful linoleum-block prints in his free time.
